2008 – 2009

Season 2008/09 saw the club continue to grow and develop. The year started with a significant achievement when the club was awarded the SFA Quality Mark “Community Level” Award, the first club in the Central Region to achieve this accolade and become one of only seven clubs nationally.  Our annual festival in August was once again a great success, and was capped off with our 95s winning their event.  Our academy once again produced a new section and they went on to pioneers the 4s model in the town, our girls section expanded with the addition of a new U12’s team.

In October our club chair was invited to attend an SFA best practise visit to Finland, with one of the strands of this visit reviewing their community club structure. Early in the New Year the club picked-up another significant award when club chair Stewart McKenzie was presented with the SFA, Sunday Mail & McDonalds Services to Football Grassroots Award. On the field all our teams were doing well with all 11-a-side teams pushing for honours, in the end our U19s coming closest finishing joint winners. Another problem free European tour saw 3 teams (94s, 95s & 96s) attend the Holland Cup which was played in the Utrecht area. The season ended on a high with our 95s winning the Kildrum Utd annual festival and in doing so clinch the clubs team of the year award.
